The goal of this activity

is for you to collaboratively reflect how the activities you have performed as part of the MDSI course (across subjects) match the MDSI Graduate Attributes that you are intended to develop. Hence, please, keep in mind the following focus question as the ultimate goal of the activity:

How do the posts I/we have created in CIC Around can serve as evidence of my/our MDSI Graduate Attributes development?

.

.

.

.

.

.

Part 1 (Individually): CIC Around entries exploration and gathering.

Duration: 5-10 minutes.

Task: Hold one of the tablets and walk around the Dara Arena Space and see what happens with the wall surface of the data arena. Explore the Data Arena and the tablet interfaces and start thinking about the evidence you will need to share with others in Parts 2 and 3. Possible Outcomes of this phase:

  • Identify the location of particular CIC Around posts that can serve as evidence of GA development.
  • You can also start with the tagging of posts according to the GAs labels (ask the experimenter if you don’t understand how to achieve this).

.

.

.

.

.

.

Part 2 (Team): Collaborative matching of GAs.

Duration: ~20 minutes.

Task: Work with the rest of the team and define a strategy to match the pieces from CCI Around that you will want to use as evidence of your GA development in Part 3. Possible outcome of this phase:

  • A final tagging of posts that you will use for the final Part of the activity.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Part 3 (Team): Collaborative screen casting.

Duration: ~20 minutes.

Task: Develop a coherent story that demonstrates how each of your team members have been working towards the development of the MDSI GAs. Take into consideration the following criteria that should be ideally covered in your screen casting:

  • It is a reflective task thus tailor the “story” as a self-reflective activity
  • Try to be fair and highlight both GAs that have been strongly developed and others that haven’t been developed
  • Talk about the potential role of reflecting on the CIC Around evidence and its limitations
  • Talk about how you can or could have strengthen the development of the GAs
